Gardenvisit Editorial

Hershey is the company town of the chocolate magnate Milton S. Hershey. He was asked if he would sponsor a national rosarium in Washington, D.C. , but decided instead to make a garden in Hershey, in his words to 'create a nice garden of roses.' The town was designed by landscape architect Ogelsby Paul. The garden was by the horticulturalist Harry Erdman with rather a dull layout but a very large collection of roses.

This is way more than a rose garden. It's 23 acres of various theme gardens (annuals, Japanese, conifers, perennials, etc.) plus great tree specimens and a fun 1-acre Children's Garden with butterfly house.
