Heathcote Botanical Gardens was formerly a plant nursery. Heathcote Botanical Gardens a range of theme gardens including a Japanese Garden, Reflection Garden, Herb Garden, Rainforest Display, Native Plants Garden and a Palm & Cycad Walk. The gardens also have areas of flowering shrubs, bulbs, trees and herbaceous plants. Heathcote Gardens are in USDA PLANT HARDINESS zone 9b which is a biological transition zone between a warm-temperate zone to the north and a subtropical zone to the south. The plants are well labelled. The 1880’s Florida Homestead house and garden is an interesting feature.
A charming small botanical garden with much to offer! New for this year is the Bonsai Garden (opening May 2011). Definitely a garden to watch as it grows.
