Situated 15 Kilometers south of Dresden and rather difficult to reach by public transport, Grossedlitz more than compensates for your troubles. Although the original design of the garden was never completed, the garden has remained largely unchanged and represents one of Germany’s finest baroque designs. The vistas take the eye far into the surrounding landscape. The main orangery is a magnificent building and can be reached by grand stone staircases. The Schloss is small and unassuming and houses a nice Café/Restaurant.
