Gropius House and Garden

Gardenvisit Editorial

The Bauhaus pioneer Walter Gropius designed this house for his family when he took a job at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. It had a profound impact on American architecture but the garden design is curiously Arts and Crafts in style, indicating that Gropius had no understanding of how Bauhaus principles might affect garden design.
