Gravetye Manor

Not open to the public - unless eating or sleeping at the Gravetye Hotel, which is expensive but excellent. The house was built in 1598. The garden is in good condition and our reporter believes the planting looks better now than it did when William Robinson made his home here. The style is classic Arts and Crafts. Except for the lake and woods, it is not a 'wild garden'.

Vowels Lane, East Grinstead, West Sussex, England, RH19 4LJ

Open all year to hotel and restaurant guests. Perimeter footpath open to public on Tuesdays and Fridays. Restaurant is open to non-residents for lunch and dinner (please book).

Entrance free
