What a waste of time and money. Little worth seeing and extortionatly priced rubbish for catering. Left site to get decent meal {with parents age 80] but didn't bother going back as seen most in 20 min...give it a miss

A very diverse and interesting garden. The walled garden is charming with a judicious mix of decorative and edible. Subtle herbaceous borders, a very good collection of clematis on the walls, a greenhouse area with agapanthus and the wonderful Pattens Unique pelargonium, the new rill which reflects the church, the gravel garden and the newish tree planting were the highlights for me. Prepare also to stand in awe of the huge and ancient trees, the views and the parterre. Also has wonderful homemade cakes and an art gallery in the tea room.

Although the buildings are showing signs of needing major investment, the gardens seem to be the recipient of the available funds !

Plenty of interesting things to enjoy, and a very agreeable new development in the walled garden..understated but with oodles of gracious charm. The woodland gardens will look stunning in the spring with the Cornus, Magnolias and Rhodo's etc doing their stuff.
[They have probably the tallest Cornus controversa variegata I've ever seen !!]

    A good afternooon's visit.
