I don't regret dragging my brother to this park - so far away from Berlin historic and touristic centre. It is very interesting to observe what plants would grow in a continental climate as well as looking at hard landscape details - such as choice of materials, what colour works in northern lights. The park is a showcase to appreciate how different cultures use different ways to frame and open the landscape. It felt like travelling through garden history. Anyone interested in landscape design and/or gardening should brave the distance when visiting the German capital.

Don´t miss it, even if its kind of far out. It´s a chance to compare garden-styles, to go around the world in half a day. My favourite is the Islamic garden ( only open in summertime) with all its fountains and the odour, which finds your nose. - If you like, you can get married in the Chinese Garden or wander through the enormous cherry blossoms in the Japanese Garden...
