An early eighteenth century house (1720-40) with formal canals, avenues, walled garden and a late-eighteenth century park by William Emes. Emes made a 'Cup and Saucer' with Black Brook flowing round a curcular platform. A fascinating garden, especially having 'done' the house tour.
The NT have done a fine job restoring the place.
