The Entally homestead was built by Thomas Haydock Reibey in 1819 (whose mother Mary is featured on the Australian $20 note). The estate is named after a suburb in Calcutta. There is an old conservatory, stone chapel and the oldest cricket ground in Australia.

Entally is an 1819 estate with vast parklands featuring oaks, radiata pines, sequoia, elms, poplars, cypress, eucalypt and fruit trees.

It presents what is considered to be Australia's oldest Conservatory still in use and magnificent gardens with a walled garden with various displays of heritage roses.

History

Entally Estate has its roots with Mary Reibey a former convict who obtained a grant of land enabling her eldest son Thomas Haydock Reibey II to build a 300 acre farm on the South Esk River at Hadspen. His son Thomas Haydock Reibey III continued the endeavors of his father and built what is considered to be the oldest Conservatory in Australia together with the walled garden at Entally.

Volunteers now work the grounds and tend the Conservatory which has recently undergone a restoration project.
