Dokmai Garden

  • Parties / Large Groups

We are happy to discuss the arrangement of any function at Dokmai Garden. Normally we do not accept parties over 50 people, but that depends on the season and the type of activity. We also offer a tropical gardening school and arrange activities for school groups.

  • Parking

Dokmai Garden has a generous paved parking suitable for cars and mini vans.

  • Disabled Access

Dokmai Garden has special tours for blind people, where we focus on bird calls and tactile and olfactory senses. Wheel chairs can enter, and we have a bathroom adapted for a wheel chair, but the terrain in the garden is not very suitable for pushing a wheel chair in the wet season (May-October).

  • Shopping

Dokmai Garden is proud to offer a range of books about tropical flora, as well as books for any gentleman or gentlewoman. We also keep high quality souvenirs such as teak wood crafts, silk vests, Panama Hats, lacquerware, mother of pearl and more.

  • Restaurant

Dokmai Garden has an outdoor restaurant, serving Thai food with very high quality. Some ingredients are picked immediately before making the food, or can even be harvested by the visitor. We do not use monosodium glutamate and we do not use a microwave oven. Instead we cook from scratch, which means it takes a little longer, but the taste is delicious. We serve beer and homemade full-flavoured non-alcoholic fruit drinks and juices. The restaurant is open 10-17, and for dinners upon request.

  • Picnic Area

School groups and larger parties may enquire in advance.

  • Pets

Since our garden has lizards, chicken, ducks, guineafowl, a water buffalo and fragile plants, we kindly ask the visitor to leave pets outside the shop, where we can provide water and shade.

  • Alcohol license

We have a permission to serve alcohol.

  • Special Events

Every month there is a special activity at Dokmai Garden. It could be a lecture or an excursion. Simply check our website for more information (www.dokmaigarden.co.th).

  • Walks

We arrange full day garden tours, including pick-up at your hotel, two guides, meals, visits to a market, to Dokmai garden and to a village in a national park. 1600 Baht. Minimum two people. Contact us for further details.

  • Accomodation on Premisies

Since Dokmai Garden is a private home, we can not offer over night stays, unless you join our tropical gardening school. However, we should be happy to make suggestions, as there are many nearby options. The Seehamongkol family owns land in the mountains suitable for camping or home stay with a Thai family. Primitive, but genuine!
