The East India Company's City premises have been converted (1982) into what the developers describe as 'London's largest landscaped office development'. The open spaces (0.8 ha) were designed by Russell Page (with Sieferts) and contain several interesting water features including a golfball fountain and a Moorish channel garden. The pink Portuguese granite sets are well handled and attractive. They blend with the warm yellow stock bricks on the old arched warehouses but not with the icy red polished granite which has been used for the new buildings. Most of the external spaces are oppressed by the height of the surrounding offices.
