Been there July 10 - very dry, gras is brown, ponds are empty. But on a hot day you can see how well they had designed this, the wooded parts and alleys, so you can amble through cool shadow with a refreshing breeze.. Some nobleness that has long been lost seems to poignantly linger across the garden ...

(4.0/5)Château de Caradeuc and its parc
This nice chateau is situated in the region of Brittany, next to the town of Bécherel.
In the summer season the parc is open to the public in the afternoon only (entrance fee 5 euros per person)but the chateau cannot be visited.
The vast parc of Caradeuc (the biggest one in Brittany)is a beautiful example of classical french garden architecture of the 18th century.
Even in the season its calm and you don't see and meet a lot of people.
Thoughout the parc with its alleys and panoramic perspectives you'll find an ensemble of nice renaissance, baroque and classical statues.
Caradeuc is called the Versailles breton (Versailles of Brittany) and if you are planning a trip to Brittany you should reserve 1 or 2h for the garden and parc.
I can't give 5 stars because it would need some more work and money probably but it's worth seeing it.
