A serpentine park, designed by Lancelot Brown in 1759, with a nineteenth century terrace garden. The house has been demolished and the Trentham Gardens is now a public park. Sir Charles Barry designed an Italian garden beside the lake in 1840. His design has been simplified, but survives. In 2004 the gardens were restored and re-opened under the name Trentham Leisure.

I went to Trentham gardens in the summer and had a picnic by the lake with my mum and brother. We kept on getting swarmed by the ducks which was sweet it was a really hot day so we all went and stood by the ice cold water fountain. Great day.

Great day out. Lovely gardens, beautiful lake, shops, monkeys; you name it. Amused by the single bad review out below, which relates to a trip to the garden centre by someone who doesn't like garden centres. Even that has the Duchess of Sutherland's cottage at the back of it!

I think the gardens are brilliant, Its great for a day out with the family and there are loads of activiteys aswell, such as, boat riding, train ride, fishing, and others.
I was dissopointed with the food there because it took ages to come and was abit small.Once it was like a peiace of slope errrrr.
But i have had very good bike rides and long walks there witch was nice and its just great family fun.

I last went to Trentham Gardens when I was about 5 or 6 years old back in the early 80's and it was really neglected back then. So when I went this weekend I was pleasantly suprised. The garden centre and shopping village were very impressive and the main gardens have had extensive work done to them. I had a really good day out pottering about the shops and gardens and I'd definately recommend a visit.
