x. Gardening, as an Art of Design and Taste, in the Electorate of Hesse 363. The gardens of Wilhelms Hohe, near Cassel, have long been celebrated, particularly for their water-works. The place is now, however, much neglected. When in a perfect state, these water-works were considered to bear a great resemblance to those of Chatsworth in England; particularly in the effect produced by a large sheet of water falling down a high rock.
