I suggest searching on LID Low Impact Development (as well as on SUDS, which is a similar term) to find US examples eg http://www.self-willed-land.org.uk/rep_res/lids_bfd.pdf

Tom
Thanks. Do you know any examples of productive landscape fed by SUDS features within the public realm eg part of street/open space network? Would there be a risk of soil/food contamination from street run off?
Regards

My own vegetated roof (1) does not discharge any water for an hour if it is dry when the rain begins (2) grows chives!
On a larger scale any vegetated roof on which food is grown supports both planning objectives.
